Passing Periods Were For Passing Notes

Hi friend!

Can you believe it's already Monday morning? What?? I mean, I barely had time to watch TV and sleep in this weekend! Can you believe how tough Mr. Miller is in Algebra? I mean, we have to do homework, like, 3 nights a week! It's SO HARD. So what if we don't have to "pay bills" or "save for retirement" or "have zero student loan debt (yet)," life is still really really hard. Ugh. Oh, isn't it funny that, like, a decade ago, people had to hand-write notes like this? WHAT?? Like, SO old school. Haven't they ever heard of a text message?? Geez. I am so glad I don't have to actually write this out on lined paper with an ink pen that's barely working because it's one of those cheap ones from the back-to-school section. Oh, I almost forgot. You know that channel that plays all of the really, really old shows? Well, I watched an episode of Full House and it was kind cute, but also weird because they had giant phones and never even touched a computer. Can you imagine?? Oops! That's the bell! I guess I have to go now to that old computer lab - you know, the one with the desktop computers and those weird, handheld mice instead of the Mac trackpad we all know and love. So weird!

LYLAS,what the heck does that mean??

PS. I'm not claiming my own middle school days were superior. In fact, I was once caught writing out the lyrics to "I Like Big Butts" in a note and it was confiscated during 7th grade English. You just never know...

Sarah :: Plucky in Love

Sarah, aka "Plucky", blogs on the reg, unless she's on vacation or there's a Pretty Little Liars marathon or she's mulling over the implications of the phrase "on fleek." She can't live without iced coffee, a portable phone charger, or equal pay. Say hello!

    1. Really?? Haha. I thought it was universal! Did you have a standard sign-off for notes to your girlfriends in school?

  2. Why do girls have the tendency to say, "Love ya!" even when we actually don't love that person? Anywho. . . I'm so proud of you for getting caught to writing all those lyrics. That's hilarious. We weren't allowed to use cell phones in high school, so we still wrote notes. I miss those days!!

    1. I found a stash of old notes in a box recently and it just instantly transported me back. There's something about touching the paper again and seeing your handwriting again - ahhh. So great. :)
