let me tell you 'bout my best friends

True life. I can't decide of I'm a Cat Person or Dog Person. I actually can't figure out how anybody dislikes either of these creatures. Here's what I know. Ralph, the cat's meow, ran the show for 3 or 4 years. He was the man of the house before James came along. He was fiesty and very protector-y. Then Daisy, with her giant paws and goofy grin, entered the picture. Looking back, I maybe should have consulted with Ralph about this decision because he has experienced the biggest life changes as a result of this curly canine. Examples: Ralph doesn't get treats anymore. Any treats intended for Ralph are quickly scarfed down by Daisy. Ralph doesn't have toys anymore. Any toys Ralph likes playing with are quickly pounced on, chewed up, and spit out by Daisy. You can see the pattern here. But here's what I do know - when we go away for an overnight and leave Ralph at home alone, he cannot be contented upon our return until Daisy is back in the picture. The minute she walks in the door, he can't get close enough and follows her from room to room. And sometimes, if you hold really still, you'll catch the two of them napping on the bed at the same time. They don't touch or snuggle or do any of the super cute animal BFF stuff I see on Pinterest, but hey. It's a start. The dog is undeniably happy and excitable and the cat is more selective, but he always chooses me. I'm a CatDog person, I guess.

Sarah :: Plucky in Love

Sarah, aka "Plucky", blogs on the reg, unless she's on vacation or there's a Pretty Little Liars marathon or she's mulling over the implications of the phrase "on fleek." She can't live without iced coffee, a portable phone charger, or equal pay. Say hello!

  1. We have two pups and I have always called myself a dog person... BUT there are kittens at the barn and I seriously cannot get enough of them! I want a kitten so bad! Our dogs don't get along with cats though :(

    1. Aww, man. That's definitely a tough one. I wouldn't say our pets "get along," but they do tolerate each other. I wouldn't judge you for sneaking off the barn occasionally and snuggling the kittehs. ♥

  2. Aw. So cute. I love both too! I think cats are less drooly which is good for me! bahaha whenever I visit friends and family with dogs I feel like I end up with stepped on toes, scratched legs, hairy laps, and drooled on legs from dogs. I still love them. I'm just a lower energy person. haha Poor Ralph, glad that he loves Daisy anyhow. :) Our cats have been playing the obnoxious younger brother and teenage "whatever" sister game. He tries to snuggle she dramatically whips her head around and jumps off the bed. He sticks his face in her butt. It's very ridiculous. Hoping they mellow out a little... bhaha :) Someday when we have a house and a yard I want a few dogs and a few more cats... :) #crazypetlady XO -Alexandra
