Urban Living

Hiiiiiii. Long time no see. I've been living downtown for exactly 7 days now so, basically, I'm an expert urbanite. #not In the midst of that life transition, my car went kaput but now I have a shiny new one (and a shiny new car payment to go with it!) but that's another story for another day. Anyway, I have learned a thing or two about being a city slicker this week! Like streetlights are great for driving down dark streets at night but not so great for shining in your bedroom window. Hello, sleep mask diva. Also, a cute dog simply canNOT get in a good walk in an urban environment. All the people oo-ing and ah-ing and petting and gushing* about the cuteness means lots (and lots!) of stops on even the shortest of walks. On a different note, working out in front of giant windows at the gym lets in a lot of light but also lets a lot of strangers see you sweating it out on the elliptical. Weird but also, like, evidence you worked out, right? Pretty sure it's just a matter of time before my taste in music has completely changed, along with my accent and eating habits. It's a jungle out here and you must adapt to survive and thrive! And by that I mean, last weekend I picked a gigantic wedgie whilst walking through a major intersection because I'm chic and sophisticated and such.

*Let's be honest. This is totally more of a perk than anything. FINALLY the world can see how cute Daisy is when she's peeing and that I should definitely be posting more pics of that act on instagram.

Sarah :: Plucky in Love

Sarah, aka "Plucky", blogs on the reg, unless she's on vacation or there's a Pretty Little Liars marathon or she's mulling over the implications of the phrase "on fleek." She can't live without iced coffee, a portable phone charger, or equal pay. Say hello!

  1. When I first moved to Indianapolis, I experienced a few weeks of culture shock. I was used to living in the country, so the smells, the walking, the crazy people, all of it was overwhelming for a bit. I wouldn't trade it now...haha!

  3. Hhehe so funny. I don't know how much I would like living in a bigger city. I have so much fun visiting.. .but so far I'm not in love with any of them enough to move there. Except maybe NOLA... but it doesn't feel like a big city at all. I am super bummed that I was in Indianapolis for mayyyybe 30 hours. We were staying with friends so all of our free time was spent catching up with them. Which was great, but meant no time for meeting you. That being said, I don't know why we wouldn't go back... so next time?! :) XO - Alexandra
