October 1st

A lot going this first morning of October 2013.
For starters, I'm SO pumped about Yes, This with Liz Lamoreaux. It started today and I got an uplifting, action-step email to start my day. Breathe, it said. I can do that.
And maybe the sprinkler in our apartment complex shoots at our windows and patio door and I forgot to close the office window last night and now my chair, printer, desk, and computer are all damp but will I complain? Nope. I will take 5 deep breaths and say yes to this moment.

Also, in the midst of some other changes going on, I think October seems like a good month to get a handle on a few things. Like my workout schedule. And my on-again-off-again relationship with alcohol. And, maybe... just maybe, some exploration of spirituality.

Did I mention this is a busy time of life?

Then there's this incredibly sweet girl who nominated me for a Sunshine Award [which I LOVE] and so here goes.

11 FACTS ABOUT ME
1. I played in 3 national championship basketball tournaments before I was 15.
2. At one point in my life, I hated country music AND coffee. #weird
3. I feel like the only girl on the planet who doesn't think JT is the bees knees. Like he'd be a fun, dorky neighbor to hang out with but you'd never want to make out with him.
4. I'm discovering a new-found obsession with globes and maps.
5. I was a history major in undergrad.
6. I've never voted in a local, state, or federal election.
7. I can't stand the sound of other people biting their fingernails.
8. I'm slowly but surely reading my way through the BBC's Top 100 reads.
9. I'm the oldest of 4 siblings.
10. I'm a quote-a-holic.

NINA ASKED,
1) What is the one thing you always stock your refrigerator with?
Coffee creamer. Or Kraft singles. They both rank up there.

2) Finish the sentence: When I go to bed, I make sure my phone is . . .
charging and the alarms are set.

 3) Where was the last place you vacationed?
Key West! It was a surprise camping trip from my booskie.
I, apparently, don't take surprises that well so it was a bit bumpy
getting started, but it was an experience we'll never forget!

4) If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Time travel. Is that a super power? I want to go see people
and things that I've read about in history books.

5) What made you start blogging?
Loooong story. Let's just say I've evolved. :)

6) All the fine print aside, what is your number one dream job?
I'm really excited about what I have going on here now.
I would love to be making an okay living doing something I
really enjoy but also have the flexibility to do it from anywhere.

7) If you could go on a date with any celebrity, who would it be and to where?
Prince William, because I WANT TO SEE THE PALACE!

8) What was your favorite childhood movie?
It's a toss up between It Takes Two and Gidget. haha

9) Who has most influenced you to become the person you are today?
In a good way, my Nana. All negative aspects of my
personality can be attributed to a different source.

10) What is the one thing you absolutely cannot live without?
The ocean. It calls to me, man.

11) Do you have any guilty pleasures?
Ha! Don't we all? ;)

Thanks for nominating me, Nina! It was super fun to do!

Now, I'm back to business in my drippy office. Stay in the moment, yo!

Sarah, aka "Plucky", blogs on the reg, unless she's on vacation or there's a Pretty Little Liars marathon or she's mulling over the implications of the phrase "on fleek." She can't live without iced coffee, a portable phone charger, or equal pay. Say hello!

  2. Fun! I'm the oldest of 6; I would want JT to be my dorky neighbor and if he was I would totally make out with him in his basement all the time. All. The. Freaking. Time. Except I'd want him to sing to me at the same time. . . maybe we'd have to take singing breaks.
