"Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud."

Today, while celebrating Moms, I read this piece of advice Maya Angelou offered to the daughter she never had and felt moved.
You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them. Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud. Do not complain. Make every effort to change things you do not like. If you cannot make a change, change the way you have been thinking. You might find a new solution.
Never whine. Whining lets a brute know that a victim is in the neighborhood.
Be certain that you do not die without having done something wonderful for humanity.
Someday I hope to be a mom. Mom's seem to be pretty wise in general, though, so it's probably a some day far far away since I've still got so much learning to do.

Happy day to all Mothers! You are more powerful than you know! After all, each kid in the world gets only one mom. And if you're very lucky, that one in several billion people who could be that kid's mom is YOU. What are the odds, eh?

Sarah, aka "Plucky", blogs on the reg, unless she's on vacation or there's a Pretty Little Liars marathon or she's mulling over the implications of the phrase "on fleek." She can't live without iced coffee, a portable phone charger, or equal pay. Say hello!
