Nothing Sweeter

There's a wild, wild whisper blowing in the wind,
calling out my name like a long lost friend...

Funny story, but on Monday last week I woke up after the last of my company had left da beach and I was

I woke up around 7am to Ralph's pathetic little meows for his breakfast and never fell back asleep. I spent all day Sunday sad and alone, and by Monday morning, the homesick blues had increased. I hopped in the shower around 10:30 and, at some point during the shaving, shampooing, and singing, decided I was coming home.

I arrived late Monday night. I have never been so content in my life. To say I don't miss the beach is a lie. To say I'd rather be here with my loved ones missing the beach than at the beach, alone and lonely, is most definitely true.

Graduation is a couple of weeks away, and I was planning to head back home at that time for a few days anyway. I jumped the gun by a couple of weeks, but I'm incredibly glad I did. I have company planning to visit da beach in the last few weeks of May, and I am SO pumped to head back out there with them.

If you had asked me when I left Indiana in December if I would be so content to be back here 1 1/2 months earlier than planned, having no more answers than when I started, I'd have said you were crazy. With so much potential for the future, I just felt compelled to get to my roots. Literally. As usual, country music speaks for my heart again here --

There's a good chance the wanderlust bug will bite me again in no time at all, but for now, I am exactly where I want and need to be. Little Katie is cuddled up next to me watching Spongebob. Nana made pancakes for breakfast. I'll see James later this evening. My best friends are all a phone call and quick drive away. Right now, on April 27th at 2:52 pm, I have no doubt in my mind this is exactly where I am supposed to be.

Back home again in Indiana,
Sarah :: Your Plucky Picaroon

ps. Making your own little fancy-schmancy quotes and feeling so proud of them [like I am for this post] really makes me want to be better about crediting others in the future. I certainly hope others love these and want to share them, I just hope I get to know about it, is all!

Sarah :: Plucky in Love

Sarah, aka "Plucky", blogs on the reg, unless she's on vacation or there's a Pretty Little Liars marathon or she's mulling over the implications of the phrase "on fleek." She can't live without iced coffee, a portable phone charger, or equal pay. Say hello!
