Job Hunt ≈ Man Hunt

I'm hitting the job hunt hard with only one month left at da beach. I'm quickly discovering that job hunting is roughly equivalent to man hunting.

MAN HUNT
JOB HUNT
The Set Up
You ask your friends to set you up for a coffee date with dudes they think would
be a good match for you.
You ask your coworkers, peers, and other networking contacts to set you up for a coffee date with employers they think would be a good match.
The Outfit
You choose your clothes based on what you're looking for that night –
a date, a fling, a real shot at love.
You choose your clothes based on what you're looking for at that time – a casual discussion about the sector, an internship or volunteer opportunity, or a full time gig.
The Critique
How picky you're feeling is directly
related to how desperate you are for
a dude.
How picky you're feeling is directly related to how desperate you for a job.

The Hard Sell
You have to feel out the level of commitment once you’re involved.
Either it has long-term possibilities or you’ll rack this one up to experience
and move on.
You'll do research to determine if this is a place you'd like to spend your career or just gain some experience and credentials before moving on to greener pastures.

Man hunting seemed to workout alright for me, so here's hoping those skills will translate into a j.o.b. Wish me luck!

Sarah, aka "Plucky", blogs on the reg, unless she's on vacation or there's a Pretty Little Liars marathon or she's mulling over the implications of the phrase "on fleek." She can't live without iced coffee, a portable phone charger, or equal pay. Say hello!
