Exciting Times!

Feeling disturbingly excited about several things today! There's a slim chance I'm actually hopped up on caffeine [cup o' joe #4 for the day so far] but there's a good chance I'm actually that excited!!

{::} Last Day of Grad Shool!

Today, I finish. This assumes I have passed all of my classes this semester. *Fingers crossed* that this is the case. One last final tonight [in Statistics, no less] and then I'm free!! Hallelujah.
{::}  Barely two weeks until I move to the beach!
Can we just pause for a second to appreciate the surreality of this statement? I, a poor country kid from middle-of-nowhere Indiana, am embarking on a months-long quest to live literally on the beach front with no one joining me but my uber-adorable cat, Ralph. Is this real life?! Until I see it and smell it and touch, I'm not sure I'll actually believe it.
{::} I think I may be getting an idea of what I want to be when I grow up!
So maybe it's taken 25 years, but I think I'm starting to figure a way that I could combine having fun and being clever and loving pretty things and taking pictures and playing around on the internet and blogging/tweeting/facebooking like a boss and working towards a mission that helps the greater good, and roll it all up into something that I could actually get paid to do! Say what?! This is all very preliminary, of course, but I've got months of beach time coming my way to figure it out and it seems promising. I'll keep you posted as things develop. :)
{::} I get to snuggle with the greatest guy.
If you're a long time follower of this blog, you know that I had *ages* of unhappiness in  relationships  a relationship.  Call me melodramatic, but I was one of those people who thought caring for someone was supposed to hurt and feel agonizing and unsettling all the time. Newsflash to Matlock-of-the-Past: You're wrong, baby cakes. There's an adorable science teacher who is going to sweep you off of your feet in short time. He works hard and cares about people and values his family and thinks you're the bees knees. Did I mention he's super romantic and plans to visit you at your beach bungalow every chance he gets?? #keeper
{::} Moving away really makes a girl feel loved.
Team, you all are giving me a big ego! Everyone is being so kind and supportive and all "We're going to miss you!" and "Don't go! But actually GO because it's a dream come true!" and I feel like the most loved girl in the state.  Well-wishes abound and a few gills have been tinged green with envy but I hope I've made it clear that you are welcome any time!
The third annual ugly sweater party is this Saturday and I. am. pumped. I love the tackiness of it all. We're also taking awkward family photos which will definitely be posted here, there, and everywhere! I can't wait to see so many of my favorite people and enjoy one my favorite new holiday traditions!
There you have it, piquettes. This Picaroon is brimming with excitment! So much goodness in my life right now. Thanks to each and every one of you!

Over and Out,
Your Plucky Picaroon

Sarah :: Plucky in Love

Sarah, aka "Plucky", blogs on the reg, unless she's on vacation or there's a Pretty Little Liars marathon or she's mulling over the implications of the phrase "on fleek." She can't live without iced coffee, a portable phone charger, or equal pay. Say hello!

  1. Woo hoo! Yay for no more grad school! You should be so proud. I hope I can cross that off my list someday, too. And the beach! So excited about all your adventures =)

    1. Thank you, Jess! Grad school was a lot of work but I'm told it will be worth it. ;) Hope you're having a great holiday season thus far!

    1. I'm moving to Myrtle Beach, on the exact opposite of the country from where you're moving to.... How did we do this? #PoorPlanning haha. I'm so excited for your new adventures!! I'm not gonna say I rocked that exam but I'm mostly convinced I passed it so .... FREEDOM!! :) Thanks for your kind words, sweetness. ♥
