Rush Hour[s]

"HURRY!" is the word that seems to be stuck on repeat on my internal soundtrack these days. Hurry hurry hurry. Faster faster. Get it done. Now. Do it. Now. Hurry!

Aaah! That might be because Europe is no more than 5 days away. I checked the 10 day forecast for Dublin and ... it showed me the weather that
we will be experiencing while we're there! Holy smokes, right?!

I am so excited. And soooo nervous.

I've been on three full-fledged vacations in adulthood.

{::}To NYC with my Frenchie (who we'll be visiting while we're in Paris, of course)
{::}To Panama City Beach with Mama Cass
{::}To Denver with Miss Amy Miller

Each time I was nervous. Each time, our final destination was a place that spoke my native language, in driving distance from home, had the same currency and cars on the same side of the road.

Here we go, Leslie and I, off into the Wild Blue Yonder. Off to adventure!
Off to mysterious European men with dreamy accents. Off to thousands of years of history at our fingertips.

Off to sights and places I've only ever seen in pictures.
Off to meals served with wine that costs less than a soft drink.
Off to streets walked by some of my favorite characters in literature.
Off to [it bears repeating] adventure!

Just thinking about it makes me tingly inside.

I know I like to reference that fact that I grew up a poor kid but I honestly have to tell you, 15-year-old-Sarah would never have believed that a decade would see her celebrating her birthday in Europe. Not in a million years.

So, consider this your chance, loves. I am giving you my whole-hearted permission to reach for the stars, whatever your particular stars might be. It might be just like Disney taught us, that any of us can get to the place of our dreams by following the 2nd star to the right and straight on til morning. That's about all I feel we started with, a vague inclination that put stars in our eyes, and it's actually coming true!

With love and trepidation and considerable awe,

Your friend,

Sarah :: Plucky in Love

Sarah, aka "Plucky", blogs on the reg, unless she's on vacation or there's a Pretty Little Liars marathon or she's mulling over the implications of the phrase "on fleek." She can't live without iced coffee, a portable phone charger, or equal pay. Say hello!
