Peppy Project[ing]

Well, hello there!
I have been so antsy to post a blog about any of the many awesome things I'm involved in right now, but they're all kind of on-going and awesome and I can't wait until they are complete to tell you about them!

{::} 2nd Annual Blog Swap
I got my email confirmation yesterday! I'm so excited to participate!! My partners in crime are  Lee at Embrace Life and Diana at Saving By Making. Keep an eye out for this guest posting madness that shall ensue on May 22nd! I am so excited to see what Diana will have for you, my dear readers, and I am so nervous about what I'll be presenting to Lee's fans! As always, I'll keep you posted.

{::}The Handmaid's Tale
Yay for officially declaring a Book Club Date! We will meet the last weekend in April to discuss this worthy novel. I plan to drop by the public library Monday to pick up my copy. With finals and final research papers all due in the next two weeks, it should be a nice distraction.

{::}Finals
Speaking of finals, Aaaaaah!
Okay, now that that's out of the way, I can't believe how quickly this semester is coming to a close! I'm not complaining, but I certainly am not prepared. The next 7 days are dedicated strictly to finishing everything. [and catching up with friends and going to work and ... and... and] I have two presentations coming up. [one is next Wednesday!]
On a good note, I am loving the interview portion of my research with the nonprofit leaders in my hometown. They are an awesome bunch of people, I have to say. They don't even realize that I have an affiliation, just that I am a grad student studying nonprofit leadership and they are all over it. And by that, I mean they are pumped to help, excited to share what they know, and passionate about their causes and careers. Talk about inspiring. You'll probably hear more about them soon.

{::} The Levo League
I joined this site earlier this week because it seemed like a good [easy/useful/informative] step in the right direction as a young professional [woman] in the 21st century. Little did I know that this group has only been "open to the public" for 3 weeks! They are already doing awesome things. Yesterday, I sat [cyberly] face-to-face Soraya Darabi while she gave me advice about using social media, connecting to my audience, and the importance of networking in real life too [I am now schooled in the importance of taking notable pros in my career path out to coffee. Soraya was pretty adamant on that point. I bet she really likes coffee]. Not a bad way to round out a Thursday afternoon, if I do say so myself.

{::}Top 100 Reads
I am halfway through a One-Hundred-Read but I don't want to tell you what it is until I've finished it. Trust me, though, it's a good one. Even better than I expected!

{::}DIY
As you may recall, I won a skein of Sheep(ish) yarn through an online giveaway through Stitch and Unwind. I'm working my way through the pattern that was posted along with the giveaway and it is a.dor.a.ble. Oddly, I chose to make it with some yarn I already had instead of the winning item... Not sure why. It might be because that Sheep(ish) stuff is the bomb and I'm not ready to part with it as a part of my yarn stash. [seeing as it just got here!]

{::}Giveaways!
Speaking of giveaways, I am hosting my 2nd giveaway through I Grew Up Brown County! Only 3 days left to win! One of my childhood friends has a sister who is adopting a little baby girl from Russia and I am giving away one of the fundraising items to a lucky winner! Such an honor to get to be a part of that very special journey. ♥

{::}The Color Run
This morning, I did the unthinkable. I registered for an official race. Yes, I am paying someone to let me run. .... Though I am slightly shamed by this, I can only say that I was tempted beyond my control! This is not your average, run-of-the-mill 5k! [pun intended]

How sweet [read: AWESOME!] is that?! #worthit

{::}I'm coding.
Not medically, so don't worry. However, after the chat with Soraya yesterday [yeah, we're on a first name basis. don't hate], I felt compelled to dig back into those Code Academy lessons I signed up for ages ago. I started a few yesterday. I'm already smarter. :)

I think that's most of it, loves. Whew. I've been wondering why I'm so exhausted lately. Guess now I know, huh? I wouldn't trade it though. Unless it's for an oceanfront view. In that case, let's talk details of that swap.

Cheerio, Cheerios!

Sarah :: Plucky in Love

Sarah, aka "Plucky", blogs on the reg, unless she's on vacation or there's a Pretty Little Liars marathon or she's mulling over the implications of the phrase "on fleek." She can't live without iced coffee, a portable phone charger, or equal pay. Say hello!
