Role Call!

Life is complicated.
Friendship is not.
I'd like to introduce you to some admirable Admirals,
my comrades in the battles of life.

I hope that each of you reading along has a friend like the one I'm about to describe.
No filtering during conversations. Whatever you're feeling, whatever you're thinking - it comes out in bits and blurbs and belches, and it's all okay.
And you laugh. Often. You laugh through tears and at silly b-words and boys. So much fun had at the expense of boys.
She maybe doesn't even know how much you value the friendship that is separated by miles and miles. Infrequent visits, though, seem to keep the opportunities to catch up face-to-face as High Priority.
She would never admit how smart and tough and strong she is, so don't ask her. You can see it, though.
You've never shared an experience with her and come away feeling judged or like you have been diminished in her eyes.
She is beautiful. Physically, of course, and you kind of hate her for it. But she's so stunning inside - honest, intelligent, loyal - that you can't help but love her in spite of her disgusting prettiness. You learn to live with it.
She wishes so much happiness for you. She has your back no matter what. She will hold your hair while you're getting sick or hold your drink while you fight.
You are enchanted by this web of comfort and giggles and shenanigans she weaves. You want nothing but the best for this person who has never, for one moment, treated you as less than the best.

Plucky Piquettes, meet Admiral Cassie B.

Sarah :: Plucky in Love

Sarah, aka "Plucky", blogs on the reg, unless she's on vacation or there's a Pretty Little Liars marathon or she's mulling over the implications of the phrase "on fleek." She can't live without iced coffee, a portable phone charger, or equal pay. Say hello!
